On the morning of September 27th, the signing ceremony of the NJIT-Oulu cooperative program for undergraduate education of Software Engineering was held in North Meeting Room 303 of the Administrative Building. Prof. Jouko Niinimaki, President of University of Oulu, Finland, and his colleagues, President Sun Yukun, Vice President Shi Jinfei and Vice President Zheng Feng attended the Signing Ceremony.

Firstly Prof. Sun Yukun introduced the education situation of NJIT and the important position of Software Engineering in Nanjing City and Jiangsu Province. President Jouko Niinimaki said that two universities can create extensive cooperation in a number of professional field based on the cooperative project of Software Engineering. Subsequently, both sides out-looked prospects of the cooperation and agreed that a Sino-Oulu Academy covering a number of professional Institutes can be established based on the cooperation program in Software Engineering. The two sides also agreed that in two weeks, both Chinese and Finnish staff will establish a Memorandum of Understanding regarding the establishment of the Sino-Finnish Institute and strive for the memorandum of understanding signed by Presidents of two Universities when the Finnish Minister of Education visit China. School of Computer Engineering, Communication Engineering, Economics and Management and Innovation College introduce their own characteristics and achievements of personnel training to the Finnish guests, respectively.

Under the joint testimony of the participants, Prof. Sun Yukun and Prof. Jouko Niinimaki, President of Oulu University signed the agreement of NJIT- Oulu Cooperative Program for Software Engineering undergraduate education.

After the ceremony, Vice President Shi Jinfei accompanied the Finnish foreign guests visited the industrial center, innovation college and computer college. In the afternoon, the delegation of Finland also visited Connie Electromechanical Co., Ltd., and the Finnish guests expressed their appreciation for the running mode of the University.
